Dermaplaning

WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is a safe and highly effective physical exfoliation procedure that removes 2-3 weeks of dead skin build up. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently "razor" the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz).

Removing vellus hair will also rid the face of accumulated dirt and oil leaving your skin cleaner and smoother.

Physical exfoliation triggers the cell regeneration process and allows home care products to better penetrate skin. The procedure can be performed monthly, with no downtime post-treatment.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING

  • Improves hyperpigmentation (sun spots)

  • Improves skin tone and texture

  • Glowing, younger-looking skin

  • Smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • Safe for pregnant or lactating clients

  • Allows for a smoother makeup application

WHAT IS THE DIFFERERENCE BETWEEN A CHEMICAL PEEL, MICRODERMABRASION, AND DERMAPLANING?

A light chemical peel will remove 13% of the epidermis, microdermabrasion will remove 33%, and dermaplaning removes a whopping 50% with no downtime.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?

This is a very popular procedure to instantly razor away fine facial hair, and improvement in skin texture and tone. With long-term effects over several months.

WILL MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER AND DARKER?

No. Vellus hairs on the face, as opposed to terminal hair on the head, eyebrows, and body, will not grow back thicker or darker because they are not attached to a blood supply.
